Home Delivered Groceries Program Coordinator
The Home Delivered Groceries Program (HDG) Coordinator coordinates the HDG program which matches volunteer neighbors with a local senior with mobility issues or a person with a disability to bring fresh groceries weekly. the HDG Coordinator ensures the program is successful in meeting its goals of addressing food security, social isolation, and creating advocates for the often unseen population of seniors and adults with disabilities in the Richmond District.
Reports to: Neighborhood Services Program Manager
Supervises: HDG volunteers
Program Administration (55%)
-Creates relationships with local groups to build new hub sites on community volunteers.
-Coordinates program volunteers including orienting, training, tracking, and supervising all HDG volunteers.
-Maintains close communication with HDG volunteers regarding any issues that may arise.
-Works with the Richmond Senior Center (RSC) to match volunteers with recipients.
-Plans and coordinates yearly volunteer appreciations and reflections.
-Works with Neighborhood Services Manager and the RSC on program success and growth including updating forms and databases.
-Updates PANDA and Filemaker databases.
-Oversees the bag packing and delivery process and fins alternates or substitutes personally for absent volunteers as needed.
-Maintains communication and relationships with Food Bank and the RSC with regard to the HDG program.
-Provides volunteer life cycle (hires, trains, supervises, schedules) for all volunteers in the HDG program.
-Seeks direction and feedback from his/her supervisor and uses it as motivation to produce better results for the team.
-Completes all tasks thoroughly and on time.
-Maintains and manages accurate records and data of volunteer activity and submits regular qualitative progress reports.
-Brings creativity and innovative thinking to the program while also adhering to the RDNC mission and goals.
-Attends and participates in regular staff and supervision meetings as needed.
-Ensures that attendance reporting and all employee paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-3-5 years experience working or volunteering with a community based organization.
-3-5 years experience in facilitating groups such as volunteer orientations.
-Familiarity with neighborhood engagement strategies.
-Preferred interest in food security.
-Demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to, work with adults of diverse backgrounds.
-Bilingual speaking skills preferred (Russian or Chinese).
-Experience working with immigrants populations.
-Availability on food program days (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons).
-Experience and ability to work and excel under challenging circumstances and in multiple settings.
-2-5 years of relevant work experience.

Essential physical tasks:
This job requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling 20 lbs and occasionally up to 20 lbs. Because of the use of the computer, this job frequently uses the keyboard which requires repetitive motion and dexterity. In the course of this job, frequent walking, sometimes over uneven and slippery surfaces, and sitting for periods of time. There is also occasional reaching.
